Special Needs Dentistry (SND) is a dental specialty that focuses on helping adult patients who have complex medical histories, genetic syndromes, disabilities and/or mental health conditions. These include, but are not limited to, Head and Neck Cancer, Down Syndrome, Dementia, Cerebral Palsy and Dental Anxiety. We use modified approaches to ensure our patients receive the most personalised and appropriate treatment.

Dr David Fu is a Dental Specialist in Special Needs Dentistry (SND). He graduated from the University of Queensland for both his Bachelor of Dental Science and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Special Needs Dentistry). He is passionate about helping individuals with special needs achieve their best dental outcomes. Dr David is calm, genuine and caring. His extensive understanding of special needs and complex conditions ensures a successful and lasting professional relationship.

Dr David always starts with an one hour initial consultation to assess and understand your conditions and needs in great detail.
After the consultation, Dr David will liaise with any other personnel as required, provide you with a detailed and personalised treatment plan, and organise subsequent appointment/s for you as required.
There is usually no treatment provided at the initial consultation.
The initial consultation fee is $280. Any additional costs at this appointment such as x-rays will be quoted separately.
There is no Medicare cover. Private health rebate may be available subject to your private health fund.
Once you have consented to the treatment plan after the initial consultation, Dr David will see you at your next appointments to carry treatment.
The treatments are fully individualised to your personal needs and a quote will be provided after the initial consultation.

We currently offer Happy Gas in clinic, and General Anaesthesia with our partnered private hospitals (please see Services).
The clinic is wheelchair friendly, and dental treatment may be provided in a wheelchair.
Unfortunately we currently do not have the ability to hoist patients into the dental chair.
Initial consultation fee: $280. Any additional costs at this appointment such as x-rays will be quoted separately.
Treatment fee: As your treatment plan will be fully individualised, the cost will be different for everyone. We will be able to provide a quote for your treatment plan after the initial consultation.
